Last Friday I had the amazing opportunity to present at Language Show Live in London. My seminar, titled “Moving the first steps in the translation industry”, revolved around those issues that translators and interpreters commonly face when starting their career.
I couldn’t have hoped for a better audience for my first public speech: the attendees were welcoming, participative and truly inspiring. We had a very fruitful Q&A/discussion at the end of the seminar, and the feedback I am receiving is extremely positive.
So, first of all, I’d like to thank all the attendees for your support and your energy. You made this experience truly amazing for me, and I hope it was for you, too!
“But I missed your seminar! And I’ll never know what you talked about unless someone invents a time machine…”
Well, you don’t have to worry. In the next few weeks, I’ll publish a series of blog articles about moving the first steps in the translation industry. I will be expanding on what I said in my presentation, giving more examples and possibly including other translators’ experiences. All you have to do is subscribe to this blog to receive email notifications every time I publish a new article. You’ll find a subscription box in the right column of this page. Or you can follow me on Twitter or Facebook.
In the meantime, you can have a look at the slides I used for my seminar.
If you have any questions or comments, or if there is any particular topic you’d like to read more about, leave a comment below. I’ll be happy to answer any questions and exchange opinions and experiences.
Thank you again and stay tuned!
Here are the articles with details on each topic that I covered during the presentation:
